Laura H. Gregory

Laura Gregory is an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the tax-exempt organizations/nonprofit institutions practice group.

Her practice focuses on advising tax-exempt entities regarding compliance with various federal and state tax laws and regulations, including issues related to corporate formation and governance, applying for and maintaining tax-exempt status, charitable solicitations and fundraising, intermediate sanctions, executive compensation, employee benefit programs, and lobbying and political activities. Laura works with a wide-range of tax-exempt organizations, including universities, foundations, museums, and other charitable and educational nonprofits.

During law school, Laura worked as a legal intern at a nonprofit healthcare advocacy organization in Washington, D.C. In addition, she worked at the UVA Health System, researching and analyzing legislative and regulatory matters at both the federal and state level. She also represented the School of Law in the UVA Tri-Sector Leadership Fellows Program, a cross-university effort designed to explore effective, responsible leadership and develop multi-disciplinary perspectives in decision making.

Laura was a summer associate at the firm in 2017.
