Recognition from U.K. Legal Publications
In 2009, both Legal Business and The Lawyer short-listed K&L Gates for awards as "US Law Firm of the Year" and "International Law Firm of the Year," respectively.

BTI Consulting Group 2010 Survey of Client Service Performance for Law Firms
The BTI Consulting Group named K&L Gates one of the top 30 law firms in client service in its 2010 Survey of Law Firm Client Service Performance, a study comparing more than 500 leading law firms which serve Fortune 1000 and other large clients. The BTI Client Service 30 recognizes law firms who distinguish themselves as the absolute best for client service, and is based upon unprompted feedback from clients who identified, by name, the firm they view as the best in various client service activities.

DuPont Meeting the Challenge Award
DuPont created the Meeting the Challenge award to recognize the outstanding legal work, involvement, and support from its law firms. In recognition of the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution capabilities, K&L Gates has earned this prestigious award in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2006, and 2007.

CIO 100 Award
CIO Magazine’s annual CIO 100 Award is given to 100 companies that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT). K&L Gates received this award in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2007.

  • 2007 CIO 100 Award: The firm was selected for its creation and use of client-facing technology solutions through which the firm’s lawyers can share legal knowledge and products, relevant industry information, and outside counsel expertise, all through a platform that allows for anywhere/any time access.
  • 2004 CIO 100 Award: The firm was selected for its role as an agile enterprise – defined by CIO as an organization whose IT systems allowed it to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and imparted a positive effect on its operations.
  • 2003 CIO 100 Award: The firm was recognized as an organization that excelled in positive business performance through the resourceful use of IT systems, staff, and budgets, even during difficult economic times.
  • 2002 CIO 100 Award: The firm was recognized as an organization that excelled in positive business performance through impressive progress toward enterprise integration.

2007 Working Mother & Flex-Time Lawyers Best Law Firms for Women
K&L Gates was honored among the best law firms for women by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC, in their first-ever “2007 Best Law Firms for Women” list. The “Best Law Firms for Women” honor recognizes firms for their work/life and women-friendly policies. The top 50 winning firms were selected using an application process that evaluated six areas of importance: workforce profile, benefits and compensation, parental leave, child care, flexibility, and the retention and advancement of women. K&L Gates’ selection was based largely on its Balanced Hours program and parental leave policies. 

2009 Marketing the Law Firm 50
Marketing the Law Firm ranked K&L Gates No. 4 in its fifth annual MLF 50. Each year, Marketing the Law Firm ranks the Top 50 law firms based on achievement in a variety of marketing and communications-related categories. The current MLF 50 ranking marks the second consecutive year that K&L Gates has been ranked among the top five law firms and the fifth consecutive year that K&L Gates has been included among the top 20 law firms.

The National Law Journal ranked K&L Gates No. 7 in its 2009 list of the 250 largest law firms. Firms are ranked by number of lawyers.

Corporate Counsel Go-To Firms
Corporate Counsel magazine recognized K&L Gates as fourth on the overall list of "go-to" firms used by America's largest companies.

Legal Business Global 50
Legal Business ranked K&L Gates No. 23 in its 2009 Global 50 survey. Firms are ranked by revenue/turnover.

2009 AmLaw 100
K&L Gates placed 19th on the American Lawyer's 2009 AmLaw 100, as ranked by gross revenue. The publication ranked the firm ninth by number of lawyers.

The Lawyer Transatlantic Elite 2009
The Lawyer lists K&L Gates No. 19 in global revenue in the publication's Transatlantic Elite 2009 ranking.
