  K&L Gates was ranked as the leading performer among the world’s largest law firms during the recession years of 2007 through 2009, according to The American Lawyer's Recession Performance Index. The ranking, which was launched in October 2010, tracks the world’s largest law firms based on how they fared during the financial crisis commonly referred to as the "Great Recession." With its Recession Performance Index, the magazine analyzes the compound annual growth rate of its "Global 100" firms during the 2007-09 period by revenue, lawyer headcount, profits per partner, and revenue per lawyer.

  K&L Gates and the firm's Chairman and Global Managing Partner Peter Kalis are prominently featured in the November 2009 issue of The American Lawyer magazine.
