The firm was also named in 2014 for a third consecutive year among the top 20 law firm brands in the United States according to Acritas’ U.S. Law Firm Brand Index. Compiled from hundreds of interviews of general counsel of companies from around the world, the Acritas report ranked law firms on such criteria as which first come to mind and are most favored by counsel, are looked to for high value work, and are most considered for top-level litigation and M&A matters.
The BTI Consulting Group further reinforced the firm’s commitment to clients by naming K&L Gates one of the top 10 law firms in client service in its 2015 Survey of Law Firm Client Service Performance, marking the third consecutive year our firm was included in the “BTI Client Service 30.” An annual survey comparing more than 600 leading law firms which serve Global 500, Fortune 1000 and other large clients, the Client Service 30 is an elite ranking recognizing law firms that distinguish themselves as the absolute best for client service. It is based upon unprompted feedback from clients who identify, by name, the firm they view as the best in various client service activities.
We support our lawyers with an array of services aimed at increasing the value we provide our clients. Our firm wide marketing and business development team, led by our Chief Marketing Officer, works with our practices and offices to develop and implement integrated programs and targeted activities, such as client feedback programs and internal client service teams that help ensure the retention of existing clients and enable the steady growth of new business. The firm has employed innovative measures in the past such as periodic market research surveys of senior in-house counsel, and we constantly look for ways to provide useful and valuable resources to clients and prospective clients. Marketing The Law Firm, an affiliated publication to The American Lawyer, formally recognized our firm’s distinct marketing efforts by listing K&L Gates as the top-ranked law firm in its 2010 MLF 50, an annual ranking of leading law firms for marketing and business development. Furthermore, the publication's final ranking in 2012 with K&L Gates at #2 marked the fifth consecutive year that the firm was ranked among the top five law firms and the eighth consecutive year that K&L Gates was included among the top 20 law firms.
Our marketing team collaborates with our recruitment professionals to enhance our outreach to law students and lateral associate and partner candidates, with our Pro Bono Committee to facilitate continued growth of the firm’s efforts in that area, and with our Diversity Committee to assure outreach to a diverse professional population. We also recognize that, as is the case with substantive legal skills, lawyers benefit from education and training in client development, and we offer opportunities for our lawyers to develop and enhance their skills in this vital area.
