Bastian Bongertz is a counsel in the firm's finance practice in Frankfurt. He advises German and international clients on banking, finance and capital market law. He is also experienced in advising investors and banks in acquisition financing and refinancing. In addition, Dr. Bongertz advises companies with respect to capital market transactions (capital increases, issuance of structured products and requirements according to the German Prospectus Act and Stock Exchange Act). He has also provided advice to leading corporate clients on corporate financing, and to closed-end investment companies on project finance.
Prior to joining K&L Gates in 2010, Bastian was a finance associate at a law firm in Frankfurt from 2007, and at a law firm in Düsseldorf from 2005 to 2007. From 1993 to 1995 he was a qualified banker trainee at Deutsche Bank AG in Düsseldorf.
