Caroline Bercier is an associate in the firm’s Seattle office where she is a member of the technology transactions and data protection group. Ms. Bercier’s practice concentrates on life sciences and other intellectual property-focused transactions, including licensing, due diligence, transfer, acquisition, implementation, and protection.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bercier served as an associate at an international law firm where she focused on patent and trade secret litigation, representing multi-national and start-up companies in the life sciences and technology fields. In that role, Ms. Bercier was lead associate on a team that obtained a jury trial victory on behalf of a major pharmaceutical company, securing more than $150 million in damages for her client. Ms. Bercier also gained appellate experience in patent litigation, including drafting a successful petition for certiorari to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Ms. Bercier’s academic endeavors provided her with a practical understanding of the life sciences. Before completing law school, Ms. Bercier studied genetics and worked in a biochemistry lab as an undergraduate and as a teaching assistant for several molecular biology courses as a graduate student.
