Dan Diamond is an associate at the firm’s Charlotte office.

Mr. Diamond’s practice focuses on private equity, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. Mr. Diamond has represented both public and private entities, such as fund sponsors, strategic buyers and institutional investors, in connection with portfolio company transactions, structuring joint ventures and the formation and ongoing operation of private investment funds.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Diamond served as vice president, chief compliance officer and counsel with two private investment fund advisers, both of which were SEC registered investment advisers. Prior to his in-house experience, Mr. Diamond was an associate at other international law firms. While in law school, in addition to a summer associate position, Mr. Diamond was an editor for the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law and he interned for both the New York League of Conservation Voters and the Honorable Thomas P. Griesa, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.

  • Represented private equity sponsors and operating companies in connection with leveraged buy-outs, divestitures and investments in a variety of industries, including waste management, automotive, tech-enabled services, life sciences and energy.
  • Represented private real estate sponsors in connection with the establishment of joint ventures and debt, equity and hybrid investments in real estate and real estate related assets.
  • Represented private investment funds (including private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate funds and funds of funds) and investment advisers in connection with their formation, structuring, fundraising and operational needs, including regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Represented institutional investors in connection with their investments in separately managed accounts, funds-of-one, hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, secondaries funds, funds of funds and other alternative asset classes, including direct private equity and real estate investments, both domestically and internationally.
  • Represented a private fund adviser in connection with regulatory examinations and investigations.
