Mr. Board is a member of the tax practice group who counsels C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals with respect to a wide variety of federal and state tax issues. He is active in obtaining letter rulings for clients from the IRS, and also represents clients in tax controversies before the IRS and state taxing authorities.
Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Board spent several years as a general business lawyer, and he frequently draws on this experience when preparing or reviewing transaction documents. He has also practiced in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency reorganization and is broadly familiar with the concerns of banks and other secured lenders. Mr. Board was for several years Associate Professor of Law at Boston University School of Law, where he taught courses on commercial law, bankruptcy and the rights of bondholders. After graduating from law school, Mr. Board served as law clerk to Judge Henry J. Friendly of the U.S. Court of Appeals (Second Circuit) in New York City.
