Our office in Dubai, located within the Dubai International Financial Centre, supports clients doing business in both the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the wider MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
The UAE’s location relative to Europe, Africa, and Asia underscores the strength of its trading relationships with the rest of the world. The UAE's continued commitment to infrastructure development and its position within the financial services sector makes it an important location for K&L Gates. In addition, with its business-friendly approach and excellent transportation and infrastructure, Dubai is a natural hub for K&L Gates in the MENA region, where we expect to see continued development and growth.
The primary practice areas of the Dubai office are projects and construction, dispute resolution including arbitration, insurance coverage, corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, investment funds and financial services regulatory advice, and banking and finance. The office also works closely with our firmwide Islamic finance and investment group, as well as providing partner level advice on UAE law and practice, and is increasingly advising in relation to FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) matters and the UK’s Bribery Act.
The Dubai office has a team of partners and associates with substantial domestic, regional and international experience in dispute resolution, arbitration, corporate, commercial, projects and infrastructure.
