Edward Yang is an associate at the firm’s Seattle office. Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Yang was an associate at an intellectual property law firm. His practice focused on patent procurement related to technologies including autonomous vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, Internet of Things devices, cloud computing, machine learning, and telecommunications.

During law school, Mr. Yang was licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and represented clients in the drafting and filing of a patent application and the prosecution of trademark applications. Additionally, Mr. Yang performed a freedom to operate analysis for a Bay Area based biotechnology startup. He also served as Chief Articles Editor of the UCLA Journal of Law and Technology.

Before law school, Mr. Yang worked as an engineer for an industry leading semiconductor company and assisted on the development of server/workstation chipsets, System on a Chip (SoC) designs, and microserver products.
