Ms. Brooks is a lawyer in our Real Estate practice group and has acted for vendors, purchasers, property developers, lessors and lessees in all aspects of their transaction. Ms. Brooks has experience in a broad range of property matters involving call options, property acquisitions and disposals, development work, due diligence and commercial, retail and industrial leasing.

Experience gained prior to joining K&L Gates includes:
  • Acting for the vendor on the sale of student accommodation in excess of AUD400 million. Assisting with reviewing residential tenancy agreements, drafting deeds of novation, conducting and reviewing various complex property and ASIC searches and preparing for settlement.
  • Acting for a large Australian developer with the purchase and sale of properties for future development plans, primarily by use of put and call option deeds.
  • Assisting with preparation for, attendance on and post-completion work with respect to the acquisition of shopping centres and commercial spaces for a large superannuation fund.
  • Acting for both vendors and purchasers in conveyancing transactions for all types of property including residential, commercial and industrial land.
  • Managing property divestment for two large clients, both involving the sale of over 10 properties.
  • Assisting with drafting due diligence reports for the proposed purchase of commercial buildings, retail centres and vacant land.
  • Assisting a national real estate agency with the preparation of agency agreements.
  • Advising a large Australian developer on their obligations under variation deeds regarding off-the-plan contracts.
  • Liaising with large Australian developers and purchaser’s solicitors for the sale of residential and retail lots in off-the plan developments.
  • Drafting commercial and retail leases and licences in NSW and attending to steps for their lodgement.
  • Advising on the establishment, conversion, termination and renewal of strata schemes.
  • Drafting and amending strata specific documents including strata management statements, building management statements.
  • Drafting strata by-laws and advising prospective and current lot owners of their rights and obligations.
  • Drafting and submitting various documents at the NSW Land Registry Services including abandonment of easement applications.
