Eliab S. Erulkar's practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions and securities matters. He has extensive experience advising foreign and domestic multinational institutions, publicly-held multinational corporations and privately-held entities with respect to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, licensing and technology transactions, and investments and financings, particularly in the pharmaceuticals, life sciences, media and technology sectors.

 

Publications

Mr. Erulkar has been featured in several issues of the India Business Law Journal regarding cross-border acquisition trends and has authored articles for the online version of Financer Worldwide regarding regulatory issues faced by non-U.S. companies making acquisitions in the United States.

Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Erulkar was a principal in the New York office of a major international law firm. He served as chairman of the firm's Carolina Corridor Initiative, organizing all firm business development efforts in the Carolinas. He was also a member of the Global India Strategic Focus Group and was on the Steering Committee of the North American Private Equity Group.

Speaking Engagements

Mr. Erulkar has recently given presentations on: cross-border M&A techniques and trends for non-U.S. companies making acquisitions in the United States; joint venture strategies for U.S. companies overseas; and the establishment of green-field operations in the United States by non-U.S. entities. He has been a guest lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the University of Tokyo Center for Advanced Study and Research on Intellectual Property and the North Carolina Association Program on International Contracts.
