Corinne Caramia

Corinne Caramia is a special counsel in the firm's Real Estate practice. She has experience in all aspects of Australian real estate law, including commercial leasing, agreements for lease and development agreements, property acquisitions and dispositions, due diligence, and major projects.

Corinne's particular focus is on precedents development and knowledge management to support the real estate, construction and development practice in Australia. Her responsibilities include drafting and maintaining a comprehensive suite of real estate precedents, and ensuring those precedents reflect best legal and commercial practice.

She is also the firm's primary administrator and manager of Australia's electronic conveyancing platform, PEXA, as well as each state's online stamp duties platforms, verification of identity platforms, and other real estate electronic forms product providers and portals. In particular, she is primarily responsible for drafting and implementing protocols and guidance notes for implementation of these tools in compliance with the firm's governance standards.

Corinne facilitates training/learning and development, and publishes important legal updates for her group. She also assists with general policy and process documents for the Australian offices.

Previously legal counsel at Mayne Group Limited and senior associate at an international law firm, Corinne advised on all property related legal issues and assisted in the commercial management of issues to achieve the business’ desired outcomes.

  • Drafting and maintaining a suite of several hundred property related precedents to ensure quality, currency, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Facilitating lawyers' workshops to produce high quality Australian real estate precedents (including contracts for sale of land, commercial leases and agreements for lease), compliant with plain language drafting standards.
  • Coordinating learning and development activities for real estate lawyers to ensure timely access to legal updates, and compliance with compulsory practice development requirements.
  • Working with leading partners to advise clients on in-house precedents development initiatives.
