Aryane Garansi concentrates her practice in the area of intellectual property, including a range of transactional and litigation matters related to trademarks, trade dress, trade secret, copyright, false advertising, domain names, and social media. She works with clients in a broad range of industries, including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, financial investment and lenders, food and beverage, automobiles, luxury goods, and fashion and apparel.

Ms. Garansi counsels clients on compliance with Federal Trade Commission advertising guidelines, including “Made in the USA” claims, “green” claims, health claims, and endorsements to ensure clients are truthful in advertising. Ms. Garansi also routinely advises on trademark and copyright filing strategies, as well as licensing and assignment issues, drafting licensing agreements and assignments in the process. She also performs due diligence with respect to intellectual property rights involved in merger and acquisition transactions.

Ms. Garansi enforces client intellectual property rights at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, Forum, and in district court litigation. In connection with this work, she negotiates and drafts settlement and consent agreements, drafts temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, motions, briefs, and complaints.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Garansi served as an associate for a leading international law firm where she provided daily intellectual property counseling, managed global trademark portfolios, and represented clients in proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, Forum, and in district court litigation. While in law school, Ms. Garansi gained false advertising experience, engaged in clearance of client fabric designs to mitigate potential copyright infringement risks, and conducted trademark clearance searches for use on client goods and packaging while working for a leading international law firm. In 2014, Ms. Garansi interned with the in-house intellectual property legal department at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in Bentonville, AR, where she developed copyright policies, engaged in trademark prosecution and enforcement, and business development activities.
