Ms. Wellington is a litigation lawyer, practicing in the areas of insurance litigation and medical negligence. She has worked on a range of coronial inquests and litigious matters, acting for hospitals, health care providers, correctional facilities and other state entities. Ms. Wellington also has experience advising on indemnity and disputes relating to insurance policies.

Ms. Wellington previously completed a secondment to the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry as Legal Advisor, to assist with the Inquiry's investigation and report into the health implications of the Hazelwood mine fire in the Latrobe Valley. She is currently undertaking a Masters of Health Management through Monash University.
  • Acting for Victorian public health care organisations in relation to a broad range of complex medical matters in the County and Supreme Court, including claims relating to obstetric management, psychiatric management, emergency care and paediatrics.
  • Acting for care agencies in relation to historical sexual abuse claims.
  • Representing hospitals and other state health care providers at Coronial inquests.
  • Acting for disability service providers with respect to litigated claims and Coronial inquests regarding deaths of residents in care.
  • Assisting with defence of public liability claims arising from injuries sustained on government property, including disputes involving application of defences pursuant to the Road Management Act (Vic) 2004.
  • Acting for public health care organisations in respect of claims for breach of privacy and assisting with the complaints process in the Health Complaints Commission.
  • Acting for organisations that are subject to a recovery claims made by WorkCover.
