Mr. Wille is a partner in the Brisbane office and a leading Queensland real estate lawyer. He has experience in all aspects of commercial, retail and residential property including due diligence, acquisitions, disposals, development and leasing.

He advises major owners and developers on mixed use and residential projects including preparing documents for project set up and ongoing sales work, advice on community titles schemes, owner disclosure and compliance, sales co-ordination and project management.

He advises major owners and investors on corporate real estate acquisitions and disposals including titling and structuring advice, stamp duty and GST, contracts, put and call option agreements, lease backs and other transaction documents.

Mr. Wille also manages the day-to-day leasing work for some of Australia’s major property owners, managers and tenants on a range of issues including airports leasing, ports leasing, major, bulky goods and specialty shop leasing, redevelopments, precedent set up and management and disputes.

Known for being client driven and his commercial approach, Chris has worked on some of the largest property transactions in Australia including many of Brisbane’s high profile CBD transactions.

Prior to joining K&L Gates Mr. Wille was a real estate partner at a large Australian law firm. He has also held senior positions in other major Australian law firms.

Mr. Wille regularly speaks at legal and industry conferences on legal issues that affect the property sector. He also conducts tailored seminars and workshops on leasing matters.
  • Acting for numerous institutional owners and investors in the purchase and sale of multiple retail shopping centres, office buildings and industrial properties on the East Coast of Australia.
  • Acting for a private Chinese investor in all aspects of the purchase of Daydream Island Resort & Spa, Whitsunday Islands including due diligence, structuring advice, stamp duty advice, business transfers, negotiation of transaction documents and assignment of Crown lease interests.
  • Acting for a major institutional fund with respect to fund through arrangements for future shopping centre developments, including preparing and negotiating development management agreements.
  • Acting for large developers on various residential and mixed use projects in Queensland. Recent projects include:
    • a residential tower at the entrance of Portside Wharf Hamilton involving around 250 apartments and ground floor retail
    • a 200 lot subdivision project in Rockhampton
    • a 1,500 lot sub division project in Yeppoon.
  • Acting for the Port of Brisbane and other private port operators on tenure and leasing arrangements including long terms leases, State leasehold interests and planning matters. 
  • Acting for Brisbane Airport Corporation in relation to leasing and property aspects of the Virgin terminal and aerobridge expansion works at Brisbane Airport.
  • Acting for many institutional landlord and tenant clients in the commercial, industrial, retail, ports and airports sector on leasing matters including advice on Centre re-developments, precedent set-up and management and disputes.
