Daniel W. Fox

Daniel Fox, a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office, focuses his practice on commercial disputes, product liability defense, and environmental litigation. He has successfully represented clients in federal and state court and has experience in all phases of litigation from the filing of the complaint through discovery, trial, and appeal.

Daniel has successfully drafted and argued summary judgment motions. He has served as second-chair trial attorney in complex civil litigation, arguing motions in limine and conducting voir dire. He has drafted appellate briefs in both California appellate courts and the California Supreme Court.

Daniel also assists clients with internal investigations relating to potential regulatory, civil, or criminal exposure. These investigations have addressed potential violations of trade secrets, securities laws, environmental laws, and antitrust laws. He has further represented clients in related government enforcement proceedings. He also advises corporations, both small and large, on compliance issues and best practices relating to human rights and social responsibility, including specifically, federal, state, and foreign laws relating to employee rights, human trafficking, child labor, and conflict minerals.

Daniel also has notable trial experience gained while working at the San Francisco Public Defender’s office, where he tried three cases to jury verdict and managed a caseload of over 70 cases. Daniel continues to represent indigent clients facing criminal prosecution in his pro bono practice.
