Elizabeth J. Weiskopf

Elizabeth Weiskopf is a litigator in the Seattle office of K&L Gates who concentrates her practice on complex intellectual property litigation and enforcement. She regularly advises life sciences and technology clients on all aspects of patent litigation, from pre-suit investigations, through discovery, Markman proceedings, summary judgment motions, trials, and appeals. Elizabeth’s cases have involved a variety of technologies, including, for example, image and video processing, data processing, data storage and compression, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Elizabeth also concentrates her practice in patent litigation under the Hatch-Waxman Act and has a broad range of experience representing both brand and generic pharmaceutical companies across the United States.

In conjunction with her litigation practice, Elizabeth also assists clients with the evaluation of third-party patents and rendering opinions relating to patent invalidity, non-infringement, and unenforceability. Elizabeth also counsels clients related to regulatory matters, licensing, and due diligence for corporate transactions.

In addition to her patent litigation practice, Elizabeth also has experience litigating trade secret misappropriation, trademark enforcement, false advertising, and unfair competition cases. Elizabeth is also a certified Legal Project Manager.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Elizabeth practiced at intellectual property firms, where she primarily focused on intellectual property litigation. Elizabeth also clerked for the Honorable Rudy Lozano in the Northern District of Indiana.

Elizabeth also maintains an active pro bono practice. Recently she participated in the Trial Fellowship program through the King County prosecutor’s office serving as a deputy prosecutor for six weeks.
