Eva Teh is a member of the firm’s complex commercial litigation and disputes practice group. Her legal practice is focused on civil and commercial litigation, as well as domestic and international arbitration.

She has assisted in a range of matters involving contractual disputes, and claims in the tort of defamation and negligent misstatement, among others. She also advises one of the two casinos in Singapore in its contentious and non-contentious matters, which involves working closely with counsel in other jurisdictions such as Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan in relation to enforcement proceedings.

Professional Background

Prior to the merger with K&L Gates, Ms. Teh trained at Straits Law Practice LLC and joined K&L Gates Straits Law LLC as a legal associate after her admission to the Singapore Bar in 2019.

  •  Resorts World At Sentosa Pte Ltd v Goel Adesh Kumar and another appeal [2018] SGCA 58; Goel Adesh Kumar v Resorts World At Sentosa Pte Ltd (SATS Security Services Pte Ltd, third party) [2017] SGHC 43
    • Assisted a team led by N. Sreenivasan S.C. that successfully argued for the application of cost consequences provided for in the Rules of Court in relation to joint offers to settle, as well as the application of such cost consequences to third party proceedings
  • Resorts World At Sentosa Pte Ltd v Lee Fook Kheun [2018] SGHC 173
    • Assisted a team led by N. Sreenivasan S.C. that successfully recovered more than S$5.9 million from a casino patron in a claim that involved issues relating to rescission and unconscionability
  • Re Zetta Jet Pte Ltd and others [2018] SGHC 16
    • Assisted a team led by N. Sreenivasan S.C. that successfully opposed the full recognition in Singapore of insolvency proceedings commenced in the United States, in the first reported decision in Singapore under the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency
  • Ivanishvili, Bidzina and others v Credit Suisse AG and another [2019] SGHC 6
    • Assisted a team led by N. Sreenivasan S.C. in a multi-million dollar private banking claim involving complex issues in relation to conflict of laws and forum non conveniens
Criminal Litigation
  • Public Prosecutor v Sakthikanesh s/o Chidambaram and other appeals and another matter [2017] SGHC 178
    • Assisted Tan Jee Ming and S Balamurugan in a matter concerning the sentencing of individuals who default on national service, which involved analysis of the fundamental principles of national service and the relevant sentencing objectives, and that was heard by a three-judge court with the assistance of an amicus curiae
