Jason Freeck is an associate in the Chicago office and a member of the IP Procurement and Portfolio Management practice group.

Mr. Freeck focuses on patent-related matters and has experience drafting, prosecuting, and analyzing patent applications involving technologies such as vehicle telematics, network traffic routing, database technologies, virtual machines, RF transmissions, control systems, business methods, pet systems, flow conditioning, and electromechanical devices. He also has experience performing intellectual property due diligence, freedom to operate, patentability, invalidity, non-infringement, and infringement analyses. Prior to that, he was an IP Law Clerk and Summer Associate at a Chicago-based Intellectual Property law firm.

Professional Background

During law school, Mr. Freeck was an IP Law Clerk and Summer Associate in the Chicago office of K&L Gates. Prior to that, he was an IP Law Clerk and Summer Associate at an IP boutique.

Before law school, Mr. Freeck received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in General Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While attending the University of Illinois, he worked at State Farm, where he developed software relating to machine learning platforms, vehicle telematics, and mobile phone applications. Mr. Freeck also developed software to automate water pump testing and worked on a student design team that received an EPA grant to research novel water filtration techniques.
