Dr. Jiang Wu is a patent agent with a Ph.D. in Electronics and Applied Physics. He assists in the preparation and prosecution of U.S. patent applications covering a wide range of areas including consumer electronics, display technologies, data storage technologies, imaging technologies (image sensor and digital camera), energy and material technologies (Li-ion batteries and smart grid), medical devices, and semiconductor devices and processes.

Dr. Wu is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (limited recognition under 37 CFR §11.9(b)).

Professional Background

Before joining K&L Gates, Dr. Wu was a patent engineer in the intellectual property division of Sony Corporation, focusing on worldwide patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, pre-litigation analysis, due diligence, patent enforcement, and cross licensing.

During his graduate studies at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Dr. Wu worked on developing novel organic semiconductor materials for optoelectronic devices such as solar cells and organic light emitting devices (OLED), co-authored many peer-reviewed journal papers and conference proceedings, and co-invented three patent-pending technologies. He also served as a technology advisor in the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) of the United Kingdom.
