Jordan is a Projects & Infrastructure lawyer specialising in infrastructure and project delivery. He has particular expertise in PPP and renewable energy projects, including structuring, risk allocation, construction and facilities/operations management.

Jordan has assisted in advising sponsors and contractors on the development and ongoing operation of renewable energy projects such as wind and solar farms, and PPP and other infrastructure projects such as toll roads, hospitals, prisons, water treatment facilities and other project financed infrastructure assets both in Australia and New Zealand.

  • Advising RATCH-Australia Corporation Limited in relation to the successful financial close of the AUD300 million, 226MW Collector Wind Farm. 
  • Advising Windlab Limited in relation to the development and financial close of the 104MW Lakeland Wind Farm. 
  • Advising Kennedy Energy Park Pty Ltd in relation to the ongoing construction and development of the Kennedy Energy Park, a combined wind, solar and battery storage facility. 
  • Advising SIMEC-ZEN Energy Pty Ltd in relation to the successful negotiation of solar power purchase agreements for the Clermont Solar Farm and Wemen Solar Farm, and in relation to documentation ancillary to the power purchase agreement for the Numurkah Solar Farm. 
  • Advising Canadian Solar in respect of various matters and projects, including a secondment to the module supply team. 
  • Advising Belectric in relation to the successful contractual close of the 349MW Limondale Solar Farm.

Experience gained prior to joining K&L Gates includes:
  • Advising ESCO Pacific and Palisade Investment Partners in relation to the successful financial close for the development of the AUD225 million, 148MW Ross River Solar Farm.
  • Advising RATCH-Australia Corporation Limited in relation to the successful financial close of the AUD400 million, 180MW Mt Emerald Wind Farm, the largest project financed wind farm transaction in Australia in 2016.
  • Advising ARENA in relation to various renewable energy projects, including the successful financial close of the AUD70 million Cook Shire Solar Farm, the AUD28.7 million Longreach Solar Farm, and the AUD47.5 million Oakey Solar Farm.
  • Advising Windlab Limited in relation to the successful financial close AUD75 million 30MW Kiata Wind Farm project in Victoria.
  • Advising Elecnor on various matters in relation to their Australian projects, including in relation to the 25MW Barcaldine Solar Project.

PPPs and other infrastructure

  • Advising Programmed Facility Management in relation to:
    • its role as FM Subcontractor in the successful financial close of the Curtin University student accommodation project;
    • its role as FM Subcontractor in the successful financial close and extension of the University of Tasmania student accommodation project; and
    • various project bids and other assistance, including in relation to the student accommodation project University of Melbourne.

Experience gained prior to joining K&L Gates includes:
  • Advising Transurban in relation to various ongoing operational matters.
  • Advising the Learning Communities Victoria consortium in relation to its successful tender for the AUD290 million New Schools PPP Project.
  • Advising on road projects including advising the East West Connect consortium in relation to the AUD5.3 billion East West Link PPP and the Wellington Gateway Consortium in relation to its successful tender for the AUD1 billion Transmission Gully Road PPP in New Zealand.
  • Advising the Wyuna Water consortium in relation to the contract extension for the operation of the Wyuna Water PPP facility in New South Wales.
  • Advising the D&C Subcontractor consortium in relation to the ongoing management of the AUD3.7 billion North West Rail Link PPP.
  • Advising the Aegis Correctional Partnership in relation to the restructure of the Partnerships Victoria Ararat Prison PPP.
  • Advising the Exemplar Health Consortium in relation to its successful tender for the AUD630 million Bendigo Hospital PPP.
