Matthew Gibbon is an associate in the complex commercial litigation and disputes practice group of the London office. He qualified as a solicitor in September 2017, having completed his training contract with K&L Gates.

Mr. Gibbon undertakes a wide range of work in complex commercial litigation, international arbitration and dispute resolution, often with international aspects, with recent experience including: investment and transaction related claims; boardroom disputes; sports and media-related claims; trading disputes; and proceedings under Companies and Insolvency legislation.

Mr. Gibbon completed his training contact at K&L Gates in London, and gained experience in the following practice groups: complex commercial litigation and disputes; banking and finance; real estate; and corporate.

  • Advising the operator of British racecourses in multi-party litigation regarding horseracing data and media rights protection, and in relation to regulatory, race fixture and sponsorship issues.
  • Acting for the former CEO of a FTSE 250 logistics company in relation to High Court proceedings regarding allegations of breaches of contractual and fiduciary duties.
  • Acting for a procurement company in High Court proceedings relating to a debt claim under a guarantee agreement.
  • Acting for a high net worth individual engaged in a negligence dispute with a global accountancy firm
  • Acting for former directors and shareholders of a multinational outsourcing company in relation to an attempted share clawback and threats of commercial proceedings in relation to breaches of fiduciary duties
