McNair Nichols is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on government investigations, internal investigations, white-collar defense, securities enforcement, and government contracts disputes. He also represents clients in private litigation and provides counsel regarding a wide range of compliance issues.

Mr. Nichols represents corporations and individuals across a variety of industries who are subject to government investigations, enforcement, and other regulatory actions. He has assisted in the representation of individuals, companies, and financial institutions before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Mr. Nichols has also represented companies and individuals subject to civil litigation in state and federal court.

Additionally, Mr. Nichols engages in pro bono matters at K&L Gates, including the representation of a client in federal habeas proceedings and participating in efforts to identify and remedy wrongful convictions.

Professional Background

Before joining K&L Gates, Mr. Nichols served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Eric G. Bruggink of the United States Court of Federal Claims. In addition, he worked as a legal extern at the Office of General Counsel at Washington and Lee University. Mr. Nichols was a summer associate at K&L Gates in 2016.
