Mr. Lynch has been a partner in the firm’s Insurance Coverage and Commercial Litigation groups for over 25 years. He has been responsible for insurance coverage matters in jurisdictions across the country, including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. His experience includes being lead counsel for policyholders seeking coverage for various types of environmental sites, including a case in which Mr. Lynch obtained a jury verdict for all of his client’s past and future remediation costs, attorneys’ fees, and pre- and post-judgment interest. He was also lead counsel in a successful trial concerning insurance coverage for asbestos-related cancers. In addition to his insurance coverage experience, Mr. Lynch was lead trial counsel for a manufacturing client that was sued in over 1,300 asbestos-related cases in Johnstown, PA. Mr. Lynch also has trial experience in breach of contract, tax and construction cases. In addition, he has litigation experience in a number of other substantive areas, including constitutional law.

Professional Background

Mr. Lynch has practiced in K&L Gates’ Commercial Litigation group since his graduation from law school in 1981. He has been a member of the firm’s Insurance Coverage Group since 1990. He has served as the chairman of the Hiring Committee for the firm’s Pittsburgh office, has sat on the firm’s Associates Committee and its Diversity Committee, and has participated in the Pittsburgh office’s mentoring program for new lawyers.
