Ms. Lawlor is a lawyer in our Energy, Infrastructure and Resources team. She has experience advising on major infrastructure and construction projects across Australia with a focus on public private partnerships and renewable energy for both public and private clients.

Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Ms. Lawlor worked at a number of leading global and national law firms.

Ms. Lawlor also spent time at John Holland where she assisted in the development and implementation of the Diversity & Inclusion Strategy through a range of progressive and innovative initiatives.

Ms. Lawlor's experience prior to joining K&L Gates includes:
  • Acting for the State of Victoria on the Melbourne Metro Train Project, assisting in the drafting and execution of a collaborative deed which set out the commercial terms on which work was to be carried out on land owned by 40 separate stakeholders, and arranging a seamless execution and implementation of the agreements.
  • Acting for the State of Victoria on the High Capacity Metro Train Project, assisting in drafting key commercial contracts, including the project agreement and ancillary documents such as the independent certifier deed. In addition, assisting in the legal evaluation of tenders from shortlisted bidders.
  • Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements for many significant projects in the transport, power, defence and social infrastructure sectors.
  • Acting for Transurban in relation to the enactment of new legislation required for the West Gate Tunnel Project and conducting an assessment of changes required to project documents on related assets triggered by the development of the new project.
  • Acting for Transurban, providing legal advice in respect of a proposed new strategy for operation and maintenance across significant Australian assets and assisting to draft the relevant operation and maintenance agreements.
  • Acting for a consortium of investors, assisting (with senior associate supervision) in the preparation of a bid for the purchase of the electricity transmission network in NSW, including key equity documents and the departures table in respect of all the key legal documents.
  • Advising a joint venture in relation to a complex alliance agreement for the support and ongoing capability enhancement, sustainment, and maintenance of naval warships.
  • Acting for Neoen in relation to the drafting and negotiating of the engineer procure & construct and operation & maintenance contracts as well as ancillary documents including consent deeds, powers of attorney, bank guarantees and parent company guarantees in respect of various renewable energy projects, including the lithium battery project with Tesla in South Australia.
  • Acting for Neoen, managing the due diligence process and preparing the due diligence report in relation to the Coleambally Solar Farm, including liaising with subject matter experts, reviewing project documents and material contracts and researching the regulatory environment relevant to the project.
  • Acting for Nexif Energy, assisting in the coordination of the financial close process for the project financing of two wind farms across NSW and South Australia, including managing the condition precedent satisfaction process and drafting ancillary finance documents.
