Rebecca is a senior associate in the firm’s London office. She focuses on planning and environmental law.

Rebecca has significant experience in the development process for small, medium and large schemes, and has assisted clients with their developments within the hotel, care home, retail, residential and commercial development industries, as well as advising local authorities.

She provides strategic advice at an early stage, as well as reviewing policy and application documents (including environmental statements). Rebecca drafts planning obligations including complex viability provisions. She has been advised and assisted in the conduct of planning appeals for clients.

Rebecca supports the Real Estate and Corporate teams in the planning and environmental aspects of acquisitions and disposals. She often drafts planning conditionality in agreements for lease/sale and other contracts. Rebecca negotiates environmental warranties in transactions, in particular for the acquisition and disposal of contaminated and potentially contaminated land.

  • Acting as planning adviser for major developments by FTSE listed property company including review of planning application documents, strategic advice, negotiation of section 106 agreements for schemes including a multi-phase London development providing up to 861 residential and over 8,000 sq.m. of commercial floorspace. Advising on obtaining permission for enabling development of a listed building to provide 93 residential units and 4,500 sq.m. 
  • Assisting in the conduct of a planning appeal on behalf of a developer client which resulted in permission being granted for 392 residential units and over 8,000 sq.m of SME business accommodation. 
  • Acting for a London local planning authority in the negotiation of complex section 106 agreements which include viability re-test mechanisms. 
  • Advising client on statutory challenge of planning permission authorising up to 80 homes on adjacent land. 
  • Advising client on resisting an application to register land as a village green. 
  • Negotiating deeds of release of rights to light for Funds client. 
  • Appealing against local authority notice to remove advertisement consents. 
  • Advising individual developer client from initial refusal of an application for three office buildings, to obtaining a resolution to grant an amended scheme, the negotiation of the S106 agreement, the granting of permission, obtaining the related stopping-up order and the associated highways agreements.
