Vanessa Boato is a partner in the firm’s Milan office and is leading the administrative law and town planning department. Her practice is focused on administrative/town planning/public procurements-related transactions as well as in litigation before Administrative Courts and arbitration boards. She advises both national and international private companies, real estate funds, public bodies and joint enterprises. She offers advice on real estate transactions (asset deals, share deals, development agreements) with reference to administrative law aspects (town planning and construction law, public agreements, commercial authorizations, environmental, energy and social housing) in order to set the most efficient town planning solutions for developing, selling or acquiring real estate assets, as well. Moreover, she has worked on drafting general town planning schemes, implementing plans and town planning agreements. She also offers advice on Global Government Solutions, Commercial Transactions and Outsourcing, Food Industry and Corporate M&A.

Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Ms. Boato worked for the town planning department of various Italian and international law firms. Between 2001 and 2003 she was an Honorary Judge at the third criminal department of the Milan Court. Ms. Boato graduated in 2000 from the University of Milan School of Law and was admitted to the Bar of Milan in 2003.

    • Acting on behalf of an international real estate investment fund, in the purchase of an entire real estate complex located in Via Morimondo no.13/15/17, Milan, subject to the verification of some conditions precedent.
    • Advice to one of the world's largest real estate asset manager in connection with the acquisition by a SICAF entirely participated by its real estate retail fund and managed by a German real estate fund, of a portion of the building located in Rome, Via del Corso, for retail use.
    • Advised one of the world's leading asset managers, acting on behalf of a real estate investment fund managed by a German investment fund regulated under the German Investment Act, of a real estate asset located in Milan, Via Vittor Pisani n.19.
    • Acting on behalf of the real estate investment fund controlled by a Swiss multinational investment bank and financial services company, in the purchase of high street retail complex in Turin from a real estate investment fund controlled by a global investment bank.
    • Assistance to German real estate funds in the purchase of two real estate assets designated to logistics and of real estate assets with office destination;
    • Assistance to a German real estate fund in the acquisition of a shopping centre and of an outlet in Italy;
