This new 2014 edition of
Expert Witness Answer Book
is your updated guide on how to successfully use expert witnesses in federal and state courts. It includes a wide variety of additional recent case illustrations as well as additional new material covering recent legal changes.
Expert Witness Answer Book 2014
describes in detail today’s federal court requirements under the amended Federal Rules of Evidence and Civil Procedure. It provides an updated state-by-state list of which courts still follow the U.S. Supreme Court’s early, but seminal,
Frye
decision, which have adopted some or all of the later
Daubert
trilogy of Supreme Court decisions in their court practice, as well as which have added additional or different requirements. Recent developments in Alabama, California and Florida are covered in full.
The 2014 edition adds over seventy new case discussions throughout the book and includes significant revisions to chapters 12 and 13, “Expert Procedure: Discovery and Deposition” and “Expert Procedure: The Gatekeeping Challenge.” The chapters discussing expert testimony in patent, copyright and trademark infringement cases (chapters 21, 22 and 23) have also been significantly revised.
Updated to include all the significant developments in 2013,
Expert Witness Answer Book 2014
identifies and responds to practical questions from trial lawyers about all aspects of the use of experts.
