Mr. Haight is a Boston-based intellectual property attorney with a background in electrical engineering and mathematics. He concentrates his practice in IP litigation and patent preparation and prosecution.
Mr. Haight has litigated patent and trademark cases involving telecommunications, semiconductor manufacturing, digital media, computer and electronic hardware, and athletic equipment.
Mr. Haight’s patent prosecution experience covers a wide variety of technologies including web based applications, telecommunications, media transmission, nanotechnologies, network communications, optics, medical devices, semiconductors, signal processing, electro-mechanical devices, memory devices, computer software and hardware, vision systems, gaming systems and devices and electrical and electronic devices.
Mr. Haight is also experienced in diligence for mergers and acquisitions, licensing and other intellectual property transactions, including diligence in the transportation and cargo shipping industries.
Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Haight was an associate at a Boston law firm where he has experience in patent preparation and prosecution, patent litigation, intellectual property diligence, licensing and legal opinions. Prior to attending law school Mr. Haight worked for a large defense contractor as a network and systems engineer focusing on air-traffic control systems both in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Haight helped develop, install and test air-traffic control systems in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Seoul, South Korea; and Prestwick, Scotland.
