Mr. Youman's practice concentrates on complex commercial litigation, including business disputes, product liability, toxic tort, securities, professional liability and real estate matters. Mr. Youman is a member of the national trial team defending an equipment manufacturer against asbestos exposure claims in various jurisdictions, and serves as a regional coordinating counsel for the client, overseeing defense strategies for an extensive toxic-tort docket through all phases of litigation in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. In addition, Mr. Youman serves as lead local counsel in Massachusetts defending against asbestos exposure claims for clients engaged in a variety of industries, including manufacturers of electrical equipment, fluid control devices and residential and commercial construction products.
In addition, Mr. Youman has experience representing clients in real estate litigation, and has successfully represented real estate developers in construction, zoning and partnership disputes. Mr. Youman also represents clients in enforcement investigations conducted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and state securities regulators, and in FINRA arbitrations.
Mr. Youman has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, and recently won an arbitration before the American Arbitration Association on behalf of a national paint manufacturer and distributor.
Prior to joining K&L Gates, LLP, Mr. Youman served as a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court from September 2000 to August 2001.
