Mr Cooper is a lawyer in our Sydney real estate team. He has experience with many types of property matters ranging from working with developers to representing large vendor groups offering their properties for sale to developers for significant uplifts in value. He has extensive experience working with option deeds, and has been involved in a wide array of developments for commercial and residential projects.

He has represented both lessee and lessor in complex leasing matters including retail and commercial leasing projects and has been involved in numerous other property matters including due diligence reporting and retirement village transactions.

Professional Background

Prior to studying law at UNSW, Mr Cooper was involved in advertising and worked in client services for a leading global advertising research agency.

He comes to K&L Gates to continue his legal career having worked at a boutique Sydney CBD-based property law firm. Previously, he has worked in immigration law as well as briefly in the office of the NSW Attorney-General as a summer clerk.

  • Assisted large Sydney based and privately owned retirement village organisation with the purchase and sale of retirement and nursing homes (Prior to K&L Gates)
  • Extensive experience in 99-year leases, retirement village contracts and the entering into and discharge of charges to secure departure management fees (Prior to K&L Gates)
