Jim Wrathall is counsel in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and focuses his practice on energy and infrastructure finance and policy matters. He has particular experience in renewable and distributed energy development and financing transactions; corporate structuring and governance; mergers and acquisitions; regulatory and policy matters; litigation; and corporate compliance.

Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Wrathall was a co-leader of the energy practice at another law firm with offices in Washington, D.C., Boston, New York, and London. He represented clients in energy project development and finance transactions; corporate acquisitions, sales and licensing transactions; and energy regulatory and policy matters.

Mr. Wrathall served from 2007 through 2011 as Majority Senior Counsel with the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, responsible for climate and clean energy legislation. Previously, he was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of a major international law firm for more than ten years, where his practice included energy, litigation, and environmental matters.
