Jennifer Coughlin's practice has been primarily in litigation, handling complex business litigation in addition to medical malpractice, personal injury and employment cases. Her commercial case experience includes a variety of contract disputes and real property litigation, in addition to prosecution and defense of securities actions, prosecution and defense of antitrust claims, defense of copyright and patent infringement claims, and defense of alleged trade secret violations. She has defended medical malpractice cases involving a variety of issues relating to hospital employees, and her personal injury case experience has included maritime actions and accidents involving guns, automobiles, and premises liability issues, in addition to several related insurance coverage issues. Her employment law experience has included representation and counseling of both employees and employers on discrimination and wage and hour issues.
Jennifer has been involved in class actions from both the plaintiffs' and the defendants' side, and has taken part in more than a dozen trials or arbitrations, and has taken part in more than twenty trials, preliminary injunction hearings or complex administrative proceedings. In addition, she has argued cases before the state Supreme Courts in both Washington and Alaska.
