John Patton is a partner in the Firm's intellectual property group and the author of a book titled Intellectual Property Law in 26-and-a-half Steps, a guide for in-house counsel.
Mr. Patton's practice focuses on trademarks, copyrights, patents, and other intellectual property. His experience includes domestic and international trademark enforcement, anticounterfeiting efforts, software disputes, false advertising, unfair competition, licensing, technology transactions, and practice before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He assists clients in all facets of branding strategy and product design.
Mr. Patton represents clients in intellectual property matters all over the world. He has experience on six continents, including courts throughout the U.S.
Mr. Patton has worked with clients in a variety of industry segments including consumer electronics, entertainment, software publishing, computer hardware, sporting goods, Internet-based services, real estate, retail goods, shopping centers, clothing, automotive goods, footwear, and food and beverage.
