Kate A. Borowitz

Kate Borowitz is an associate in the firm’s investment management, hedge funds and alternative investments practice group in the London office, specializing in UK and EU regulatory law. Ms. Borowitz previously worked in the firm’s New York office, where her practice encompassed various matters relating to both registered and private funds. On the registered side, Ms. Borowitz has focused primarily on exchange traded funds and products, including analyzing regulatory compliance issues relating to the Securities Exchange Act and the Investment Company Act, and reviewing ETF governing instruments, disclosure documents and board meeting materials. In the private fund sphere, Ms. Borowitz has drafted and revised key fund documents such as redemption requests, LLC agreements and partnership agreements. Ms. Borowitz has also researched issues relating to the regulation of private funds under the Advisers Act.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Borowitz was a summer associate in the firm’s New York office in 2015. In addition, she was an intern in the Office of Special Counsel for the Executive Chamber of Governor Andrew Cuomo. While in law school, Kate co-chaired NYU’s chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund.
