Prior to his career in law, Mr. McCormick worked for GE Healthcare, where he gained valuable experience in both design and manufacturing engineering with roles related to computed tomography (CT), X-ray, and patient bedside monitoring technologies. He also worked as an associate for an international trade compliance firm, assisting clients with compliance management, commodity classification, and export licensing requirements. During law school, Mr. McCormick was a research assistant for Professor Kali N. Murray. In this role, he helped prepare an amicus brief to the Supreme Court of the United States regarding Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics, Inc. He was also a student leader for the academic success program at his law school. Mr. McCormick gained patent prosecution experience at a Milwaukee-based law firm, prior to joining K&L Gates as a summer associate in 2013. Mr. McCormick’s pro bono experience includes representing clients in guardianship and family court proceedings. He has also represented pro bono clients in various intellectual property matters.
