Acknowledging that the 20 firms selected “have taken different paths toward their global powerhouse status,” Law360 cites K&L Gates’ recent international growth, noting that the firm “since 2010 has added offices in Moscow, Brussels, São Paulo, Qatar and Tokyo and busted through the $1 billion revenue barrier.”
Law360’s inaugural “Global 20” ranking identifies leading law firms based on such factors as the percentage of lawyers and number of offices operating outside a firm’s home country, the number of countries in which a firm is present, and the breadth of firms’ international work, including the size, number, and complexity of cross-border matters, as well as the firm’s pioneering international efforts.
Since early 2011, the firm has added five offices, in Brussels, Doha, São Paulo, and Milan, as well as in Charleston. In addition, the firm continues to add laterals around the world, further expanding its presence in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America.
K&L Gates includes lawyers practicing out of more than 40 fully integrated offices located in North America, Europe, Asia, South America, and the Middle East, and represents numerous GLOBAL 500, FORTUNE 100, and FTSE 100 corporations, in addition to growth and middle market companies, entrepreneurs, capital market participants and public sector entities.
