Li Shen is an associate in the firm’s Houston office. Her practice includes domestic and international energy transactions, with a focus on oil and gas, energy trading commodity and liquefied natural gas (LNG) related transactions.

Ms. Shen also maintains an active pro bono practice, which includes assisting asylum seekers in immigration proceedings and proposing an alternative disputes resolution mechanism for the companies in Southeast Asia countries.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Shen was a summer associate at Dell, Inc. and at the firm in 2016. She was a vacation student at a British law firm in Beijing in January 2016. In addition, she was a summer associate at a law firm based in Madison, Wisconsin in 2015, and an apprentice lawyer at a Chinese law firm from 2012-2014.

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG):
  • Advise an LNG trading group on numerous LNG master sale and purchase agreements
  • Advise a leading Chinese privately-owned company to acquire LNG and tolling capacity from U.S. LNG export terminals and portfolio sellers
  • Advise a Singaporean company on its LNG master sale and purchase agreements with various counterparties
  • Advise a Danish company on its LNG master sale and purchase agreements
  • Advise a development-stage U.S. West Coast LNG export terminal developer on sale of LNG and tolling capacity
  • Advise a U.S. company develop its LNG LNG sale and purchase agreement term sheets for sales into China
  • Assist a Taiwanese company with an NG receiving terminal draft and negotiate its LNG purchase and sales agreement term sheet
  • Assist in conducting in-house training for a leading Chinese privately-owned company regarding U.S. LNG export terminals and various commercial agreement including short-term LNG master sale and purchase agreement, long-term LNG sale and purchase agreement and tolling agreement
Corporate:
  • Represent a U.S. electric power holding company and conduct due diligence on the purchase of compressed natural gas fueling station network throughout the Midwest, Southeast and Texas offered by a U.S. pioneering CNG provider
  • Advise a privately-owned U.S. oil and natural gas exploration and production company on drilling contract to develop oil and gas assets in Pennsylvania.
  • Advise a major Japanese company on corporate and compliance matters relevant to its subsidiaries’ operations in different jurisdictions in the United States
  • Review and finalize MIPA for a French multinational electric utility company in the sale of its LNG subsidiaries to an U.S. Fortune 100 energy company
  • Advise a leading Chinese international logistics company on its barge transportation operations in Guinea and draft due diligence report
  • Advise a U.S. company to form a foreign limited liability company in Texas
  • Advise a wholly foreign-owned enterprise on distribution medical devices in China and draft dealership agreement
Midstream Projects:
  • Assist a major international oil and gas company draft and negotiate a Mooring and Lifting Agreement for an East African off shore gas development
  • Assist a major international oil and gas company draft and negotiate a Tolling Agreement for an East African LPG and Condensate development

Energy Trading Commodity:
