Ms. Ward is a property lawyer with a particular focus on agribusiness. Ms. Ward was born and raised in rural New South Wales and her personal experience has allowed her to have an appreciation and understanding of this area of law.

Ms. Ward's legal experience extends to all front end facets of property law, including the purchase, sale and lease arrangements of agricultural, commercial and residential property. She has also prepared and advised on other commercial agreements, including self-managed superannuation funds, development agreements, joint venture agreements, co-ownership deeds and trusts.

A significant part of Ms. Ward's practice includes advising on water transactions and making applications to the Foreign Investment Review Board on behalf of foreign clients. Ms. Ward has played an integral part in developing our FIRB application process to ensure high levels of success.

Ms. Ward's clients have included foreign investor funds and clients, developers, private companies, trustees and family farmers.

Ms. Ward always ensures her clients receive quality legal advice while protecting their interests and making sure the commercial balance of a transaction is not disregarded.

She has worked as a lawyer in various Australian jurisdictions, including New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland. Ms. Ward has also had transactional experience across multiple jurisdictions, including Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Agricultural Acquisitions and Disposals 
  •  Representing a foreign investor in the due diligence of a major investment in an Australian feedlot and abattoir.
  • Representing a Canadian pension fund backed purchaser on the acquisition of multiple large grazing properties in Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
  • Representing a number of overseas investors with foreign investment review board applications.
  • Representing overseas interests in respect of legal due diligence and contract negotiation processes in relation to beef processing enterprises.
  • Acting for pension funds in connection with their acquisitions of multiple dairy and horticultural properties in Tasmania.
  • Representing a pension fund back purchaser on the acquisition of a cattle grazing property in New South Wales.
  • Representing US pension funds in connection with the purchase of farmland in Victoria and New South Wales for Almond plantations including all work in connection with irrigation matters.
