The Fort Worth office was established in 2005 to serve our clients in Tarrant County and the surrounding areas.   These areas have been experiencing explosive growth over the past few years, and the prediction is that this trend will continue.  This area is well known as a major center for industry, technology, energy, distribution and transportation.  The office is now home to 10 lawyers with deep roots in the legal and business community who focus on serving the needs of our Fort Worth clients, representing and advising them on a variety of matters including real estate and land use, corporate finance, private equity, energy and health care.

The Fort Worth office has a nationally recognized land use practice with specific experience representing clients in land use and property rights matters, including tax, finance, zoning, annexation, development, and environmental matters.   We have represented developers of high-profile real estate projects including airports, arenas, office buildings, shopping centers, apartment projects, resort developments, conference centers, hotels, restaurants, and residential lot developments.  We negotiate and draft contracts with architects and contractors, property managers and leasing agents, buyers and sellers of real estate, landlords and tenants (including the parties to ground leases and sale/leaseback transactions) and investors in real estate.  Our practice includes a partner certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Residential Real Estate Law, a former city planner, and a city attorney who draw on their varied experience to offer practical, cutting-edge solutions to real estate and land use challenges.  We also have experience in land use litigation to protect our clients’ development rights when negotiations are unavailing.

Our energy and natural resources team is comprised of lawyers from multiple disciplines with oil and gas, power, state and federal regulation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, environmental, real estate, land use and tax proficiency.   We represent independent and major oil and gas exploration and production companies, royalty owners, surface owners, operators, drilling contractors, financial institutions, and institutional investors involved in all facets of the energy and natural resources industry.  We also have significant experience in large project finance, energy lending and debt, and equity financing transactions.

Our labor and employment practice is balanced between client counseling and litigation.   Our lawyers counsel employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including managing employees, investigating internal discrimination and harassment complaints, workforce planning, and complying with state and federal anti-discrimination laws and other employment-related statutes.  We represent employers in complex litigation and administrative proceedings involving discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, covenants not to compete and employee theft and trade secrets issues.  The firm is also proactive in advising clients on compliance programs, agreements, and dispute resolution processes that help prevent claims and disputes from arising.

The office’s corporate transactions and finance practice focuses on investment funds formation, as well as private equity partnerships and joint ventures.   Our experience ranges from representing small start-ups to billion dollar investors and entities.  We advise lenders and borrowers on commercial transactions, including secured and unsecured lending and fund loan facilities, asset-based lending, syndicated loans, securitization, and debtor-in-possession financing.

The Fort Worth office’s health care group consists of lawyers from multidisciplinary backgrounds with significant health care experience.   We have represented physicians, hospitals, home health agencies, nursing homes, pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, and other health care industry providers and suppliers on a broad range of transactional and regulatory matters.
