Lori Hinnant is a partner in the firm’s Research Triangle Park office, where she is a member of the environmental, land and natural resources and agribusiness, food and beverage practice groups. Ms. Hinnant’s practice encompasses regulatory counsel and administrative litigation to the food and beverage, chemical, energy, utility, mining, pharmaceutical and life sciences, petroleum/C-stores, agribusiness, financial institutions, and health care industries. Ms. Hinnant supports M&A teams by conducting regulatory due diligence and permitting compliance reviews. She also helps clients in obtaining construction and operating permits and provides representation in enforcement matters.

  • Representation of permittees in challenges to permits, defends permittees in third party claims and citizen suits, and defends permittees in enforcement actions, including negotiation of Consent Orders

Real Estate Development

  • Works closely with developers, contractors and financial institutions in evaluating environmental issues and resolving impediments to construction, including permitting, remediation, exposure to contamination, vapor intrusion issues, and wetlands

  • Works with technical consultants in considering and implementing remedial alternatives and negotiating with federal and state regulators
