Mr. Standen is a corporate and commercial lawyer practising in the areas of technology, telecommunications, privacy, marketing and outsourcing.

Mr. Standen advises leading technology and telecommunications companies on a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions, with a particular focus on cloud computing and IT contracts, smart grids, marketing contracts, telecommunications regulation, outsourcing transactions and content and technology licensing.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Standen worked in the Sydney office of a large national law firm. In 2011 Mr. Standen also completed a secondment as a corporate counsel at Vodafone Hutchison Australia.

  • Advising a government-owned utility on the terms of its infrastructure access arrangements with the National Broadband Network Company as part of the rollout of the national broadband network across New South Wales.
  • Advising a global telecommunications company on its supply chain, logistics and product distribution arrangements.
  • Advising a global telecommunications company on the terms, implementation and launch of a mobile device security application and a range of other telecommunications product offerings.
  • Advising a Netherlands-based technology company on the regulatory issues relating to the launch of its mobile device application in Australia.
  • Advising a diverse range of clients on their dealership arrangements, content and software licences, cloud computing, IT and bureau services agreements.
