Markus Brock is an associate in the firm's Berlin office and a member of the Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights, Licensing and E-Merging Commerce, and Telecom, Media and Technology practice groups. He advises clients on intellectual property rights, unfair competition law and information technology. Markus Brock has extensive experience advising national and international clients on German and European trademark law. His trademark practice includes prosecuting and maintaining German, European Community, and international trademarks according to the Madrid system, as well as enforcing these trademarks in litigation. Markus Brock is experienced in all aspects of competition law (including unfair competition and anti trust law issues), patent law, and copyright law. He regularly advises clients on licensing matters and IP-related issues in corporate transactions.

Professional Background

Before joining K&L Gates in June 2007, Markus Brock worked as a lawyer in the Berlin office of another international law firm and was a member of its IP-IT/Commercial practice group. Between 2005 and 2006 he spent part of his legal clerkship in an Australian solicitor's office. Markus Brock wrote his PhD thesis on IP/IT law.
