Martyna Wurm is an associate in the K&L Gates Warsaw office and a member of the Antitrust, Competition & Trade Regulation Practice and Banking, Finance and Restructuring Practice. She practices in the area of Polish and European competition law, including anticompetitive agreements, abuse of dominant market position, merger control and state aid. Ms. Wurm specializes in consumer protection law, advising business entities on their compliance with consumer rights. In her practice, she also uses her knowledge of finance and economics, which enables her effective application of competition law regulations in the financial sector as well as in transactions and in merger clearance proceedings.

Ms. Wurm has also experience in financing and structuring of transactions, and providing complex services related to financing transactions.

Professional Background

Ms. Wurm joined K&L Gates in November 2013. Before joining the firm, she practiced as an intern at the Warsaw office of another international law firm, dealing mainly with commercial, banking, and finance law. She was also a trainee in several Warsaw-based law firms.

  • Preparing within the Task Force on Cartels and Leniency of the ICC Commission on Competition publication “ICC Leniency Manual” providing a factual and visual overview of the leniency programmes in 20 different jurisdictions, explaining the leniency application process and providing guidance for business on filing local or multi-jurisdictional applications.
  • Preparing an opinion of the ICC Poland Competition Commission regarding a draft act on the amendment of the Competition and Consumer Protection Act and amendment of the Code of Civil Procedure (draft number UD213)
