Ms. Buckeridge is an associate in the firm’s global labour, employment and workplace safety practice group.

Ms. Buckeridge is experienced in advising companies in all aspects of employment law, including contracts, policies and handbooks, performance and absence management processes, reductions in force and redundancies, internal investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures, executive severance negotiations and defending employers against litigation from current and former employees. Ms. Buckeridge also assists with cross-jurisdictional advice, applying her employment law knowledge of both the Australian and UK jurisdictions. 


Professional Background

Ms. Buckeridge is an Australian-qualified lawyer. She joined the firm’s Sydney office in 2016 and transferred to London in early 2018.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Ms. Buckeridge worked in a Sydney-based boutique employment law firm providing workplace advice to both employees and employers.

Recent contentious and non-contentious work includes:
  • Defending a global research services provider against a claim of maternity and pregnancy-related discrimination brought by an employee.
  • Defending a global business in the energy sector against a claim of racial discrimination, harassment and victimisation brought by an employee.
  • Assisting a banking industry client to successfully avoid litigation and achieve settlement in relation to a grievance raised by an employee, in which bullying, harassment, discrimination and victimisation were alleged.
  • Assisting a leading business in the pharmaceutical supply chain industry with multi-jurisdictional implementation of compliant documentation following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.
  • Assisting a provider of broadcasting services with employment-related due diligence analysis and implementation of post-closing employment documentation following a share acquisition.
  • Assisting a leading provider of sports betting technology with employment-related aspects of a share sale, including warranty review and implementation of management exit bonuses.
  • Advising a multi-national technology company on the TUPE rights and liabilities arising from an asset purchase agreement.
