Ms. Aleyaseen concentrates her practice on contentious and litigious matters involving construction & property disputes, employment & labour law disputes, contractual disputes and commercial/corporate disputes. She regularly advises and represents international and UAE-based companies, property developers, owners, employers, and contractors in DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, ADCACC and ICC administered arbitration proceedings as well as ad hoc proceedings. She also has full advocacy rights, and advises and represents clients, in disputes before the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts.

Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Ms. Aleyaseen practiced litigation & dispute resolution at firm in Dubai and, before that, at a litigation boutique law firm in Toronto, Canada where she appeared before all levels of the Ontario courts, including the appellate courts, and administrative tribunals.

  • Representation of a regional MEP contractor in its multi-million dollar dispute in relation to the expansion of Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 expansion (DIAC arbitration proceedings);
  • Representation of a government entity in relation to its multi-million dollar dispute involving a power and desalination plant;
  • Representation of a regional company in its disputes involving the construction of its logistic facilities (DIAC arbitration proceedings);
  • Representation of a large local company in disputes involving the construction and expansion of a shopping mall and residential building in Deira (ad hoc arbitration proceedings); and
  • Representation of numerous developers in their disputes with investors in relation to various projects throughout the Emirate (DIAC, DIFC Courts and ADCCAC).
