K&L Gates Grows Chicago Office with Addition of Corporate, Commercial Disputes Partners

September 15, 2009

Chicago— Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Susan J. Greenspon and David A. Rammelt to its Chicago office as partners in the corporate and commercial disputes practices, respectively. The first new partners to join the office since the combination of K&L Gates and Bell, Boyd & Lloyd earlier this year, Greenspon and Rammelt join the firm from Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, accompanied by a team of senior litigation associates and an of counsel.

An experienced corporate lawyer who focuses on financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and general corporate counseling, Greenspon represents businesses of all sizes, ranging from publicly-traded companies to start-up enterprises, across a wide range of industries. She advises consumer product manufacturers, software and Web site developers, real estate developers, and companies developing cutting-edge green-tech initiatives in transactions involving the purchase or sale of their companies, private equity financings, restructuring and debt financings, and corporate governance matters. She also assists her clients in securing early-stage funding.

Rammelt’s extensive complex commercial litigation practice focuses on products liability, trademark and Internet technology, and business disputes. Currently serving as lead national litigation counsel for the world’s largest manufacturer of marine products, Rammelt has acted as lead trial counsel to multinational corporations in hundreds of cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States. He has defended product liability lawsuits involving the design or manufacture of boats, marine engines, fitness and recreational equipment, automobiles, trucks, and industrial equipment. Additionally, Rammelt has handled a variety of consumer, antitrust, advertising, shareholder and other business litigation, as well as the defense and prosecution of trademark, trade secret, and Internet technology disputes.

“K&L Gates is very pleased to welcome Susan and David to our Chicago office,” said Nancy E. Bertoglio, Administrative Partner of K&L Gates’ Chicago office. “Susan’s extensive corporate background representing both emerging and established companies will greatly benefit our clients. David is a highly experienced litigator, and his broad-based practice across a number of industries will further expand our litigation services to the firm’s clients as well as enhance K&L Gates’ product liability practice.”

K&L Gates Chairman and Global Managing Partner Peter J. Kalis said: “We are delighted that Susan and David are joining K&L Gates.”
