Raleigh— Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes John R. Erwin and Brian R. Brown as partners in its Raleigh office. Both members of the firm’s corporate practice, they join K&L Gates from Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP.
Erwin has substantial experience representing U.S. and international technology and biotechnology companies in transactions including mergers and acquisitions, strategic joint ventures, and the purchase or sale of stock and assets. A longtime advisor to health care providers and life sciences companies, he provides a full range of legal services to such institutions.
With a focus on corporate, tax, estate planning, and health care matters, Brown counsels clients on a wide range of transactions, from formation, mergers, and acquisitions to reorganization, restructuring, and corporate separation. He has extensive experience advising on the corporate practice of medicine, in the administration of high net worth estates, in the formation and funding of family limited partnerships, and in the formation of nonprofit entities.
