Piotr Kocoł is a Polish-qualified advocate focusing on environmental law, in particular industrial emissions, carbon dioxide emissions trading, waste management, water and sewage management, environmental impact assessment, damage to the environment, including land contamination, and environmental permits. He also practices other disciplines of administrative law and drafts construction contracts.

He participated in projects pertaining to the development, modernization and operation of industrial installations from energy, oil & gas, mining, chemical, metallurgy and manufacturing sectors.

Piotr conducted a wide range of legal audits and participating in transactions related to acquisitions of conventional power plants, wind farms, ski resorts, waste management facilities and other infrastructure installations.

He successfully advised in proceedings before administrative authorities and courts, in particular on environmental permits and penalties.

Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Piotr Kocoł practiced in the Warsaw office of a London-based international law firm focusing on environmental protection and administrative law.

Piotr Kocoł participates as a speaker at industry conferences for wide-range of industrial sectors, including energy and chemical sectors. He lectures in post-graduate studies on Environmental Law Faculty at Łazarski’s Private University in Warsaw.
